Mission Statement

At Cherry Blossom Nursery School, with settings at Seafield Road and Claverhouse, we are private nurseries working in partnership with Dundee City Council, offering flexible part time and full time care for children from birth to five years old. Our mission is to support every child’s holistic development and wellbeing by providing high quality early learning and childcare that nurtures growth, curiosity, and joy.

With a strong foundation of experience across both nurseries, we are committed to remaining at the forefront of early childhood education by continually embracing current research, best practice, and innovation. Our passion for working with young children is evident in every interaction, as we enrich these formative years with warmth, care, and dedication.

At the heart of our vision is a commitment to listening to children and valuing their voices as central to our practice. Through our feel good approach, we recognise and celebrate each child as intelligent, capable, and unique, ensuring that everything we do is guided by what matters most, your child.

We believe that play is the foundation of learning. Across both settings, we provide stimulating, creative, and inclusive learning experiences that build curiosity, confidence, and resilience. Through these enriching opportunities, we aim to inspire compassionate, curious, and capable learners who are well-prepared for the future.

We follow the Birth to Three framework, along with local and national guidelines, to provide the best possible support for young children. At the heart of our approach is GIRFEC (Getting It Right for Every Child), which prioritizes the well-being of each child. This approach uses SHANARRI indicators—covering Safety, Health, Achievement, Nurture, Activity, Respect, Responsibility, and Inclusion—as the foundation for helping children grow, develop, and reach their full potential in a safe and supportive environment.

We are committed to meeting each child's unique needs through the Curriculum for Excellence, supporting their ongoing learning and development every step of the way. Our approach also integrates essential local and national guidelines, including Responsive Planning, Building the Ambition, How Good is Our Early Learning in Children, and the Health and Social Care Standards—My Support, My Life. Together, these frameworks ensure we create rich, meaningful learning experiences that inspire growth, curiosity, and joy in every child.

Our Technology

At Cherry Blossom Nursery School, technology enriches early learning by providing interactive tools for building foundational skills, such as counting and letter recognition. With age-appropriate activities, children engage in collaborative learning, creating a balanced and engaging environment for every child.

Meals

At Cherry Blossom Nursery School, we provide healthy balanced meals in line with Setting the Table - NHS Scotland & Eat well Guide. All meal sessions include morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snacks, and we caterer fully for all dietary requirments.

Learning

A structured program of learning is beneficial to every child as it provides a clear pathway for development. With a well-designed curriculum, each child experiences activities suited to their age and developmental stage, ensuring they gain essential skills at their own pace. A consistent learning program also helps identify each child’s strengths and areas for growth, allowing practitioners to adapt support and challenges as needed. This approach fosters confidence, curiosity that can positively impact children’s future education.
